"Meadow", the Magnificent Moth!

Did you know moths are more efficient pollinators than day flying insects? These winged beauties make an important contribution to our earth in the wee hours of darkness! In this all day class you will learn to fabricate a moth body with roving wool including wire legs that are posable. The wings are cut and created with felted wool and span nine inches wide! The designs you choose to adorn the wings can follow a real or imaginary creature. A plethora of colored wool will be available! The finished wings will be run through Freya the felting machine to flatten finish. Powertex will then be added to stiffen wings. The fuzzy furry body is constructed using faux fur. Black glass eyes and antenna created from thin feathers are the finishing touch! This is an easy level two class (meaning you are familiar and have some grasp of wrapping, creating armatures, making shapes and sculpting with wool} Some prior needle felting experience would be helpful!!
All materials included!
The class will be limited to a small group of seven.
Ages 15+
Please feel free to bring a snack or sack lunch and drink along for an afternoon break. I will also provide snacks, coffee and tea along with plenty of fun filled whimsy!
Class fees are non-refundable however you may transfer to another class if notice is given seven days or more prior to the class date.
